Book Week NI 2022

Read All About It!

Book Week NI runs from 17 - 23 October and is in its 7th year, growing from strength to strength each year!

As a joint initiative between Libraries NI and BBC NI, the partnership celebrates the pleasures and benefits of reading. Reading for pleasure contributes to positive mental health and wellbeing, and as part of Book Week NI, each day will focus on a different genre.

From Life Stories to Children's Books, from Short Stories and Debut Novels to the Wide Wonderful World and Stories in Picture and Sound, there is plenty for everyone to get involved with the week finishing with Classics Old and New. And as Wednesday 19th October is Love Your Library Day, there will be opportunity to celebrate all that is wonderful about our local libraries.

There will be a host of events and activities happening at local Libraries NI branches so don't forget to call in to borrow and return books and get involved. As well as suggestions of books, audiobooks and ebooks, there will be themed book displays and activities in libraries allowing you to extend your 'To Be Read' list. BBC NI programming across Book Week NI will link back to the main themes of the week and no doubt with BBC Sounds you will be able to listen on the go and listen back.

Follow the conversation via twitter, facebook or instagram by following Libraries NI and BBC Northern Ireland and using the #BookWeekNI tell us what you love about books, reading and libraries.
