CILIP Ireland is delighted to offer a bursary to attend the LAI / CILIP Ireland Annual Joint Conference to be held virtually on 2nd and 3rd November 2021.

The conference will explore the theme of 'Libraries: A World of Possibilities' and what that means in all library contexts. We have invited members of the library community to tell us about work happening across Ireland and beyond. The conference will be of interest to those working in all types of libraries, those studying information and library studies and those with an interest in libraries in general.

Benefits for delegates:

The conference offers an opportunity to learn about work in other libraries and other library sectors, meet library staff from other libraries and other library sectors, and provides networking opportunities. It allows for the development of new skills, and has a positive impact on your continuing professional development and Professional Knowledge and Skills Base (PKSB).

Bursary Details:

The bursary is open to CILIP Ireland members and is intended to offer assistance to further professional development. The bursary will cover a complimentary place at the virtual Joint Conference, covering 2nd and 3rd November 2021.

CILIP Ireland particularly welcomes applications from the BAME community, and from LIS students, new professionals or others in the early stages of their career.

Criteria:

  • You must be a CILIP Ireland member.

  • You must be able to attend on both days of the conference, 2nd and 3rd November 2021. Please ensure you have your line manager's agreement to attend or be willing to take annual leave to attend the conference.

  • You will be expected to write a short conference report reflecting on and developing ideas generated by the conference, rather than the experience of attending the conference. This report will be posted on the CILIP Ireland Blog.

  • If you are active on social media, please share your thoughts on the conference throughout the two days using the conference hashtag #LAICILIPIre21 and tagging CILIP Ireland (@CILIPIreland).

Applications should be made via this link: https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/MJD7QLQ .

The closing date is 4pm on Monday 18th October. The Committee's decision is final and the successful applicant will be contacted by email.

Good luck to all who enter!
